GreenScapes Landscape Co. was proud to manage the complete landscape installation for the Franklin County Courthouse and Government Center civic campus in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Working from urban design and landscape design by MKSK, our team brought to life a thoughtfully crafted public realm that enhances connectivity, sustainability, and civic presence.
MKSK's master plan redefined the site with pedestrian-focused elements including an entrance forecourt, pocket parks, outdoor plazas with seating terraces, and enriched streetscapes that frame and activate the new civic campus. A standout feature is the prominent rain garden at the corner of Mound and Front Streets, an elegant blend of stormwater management and public green space.
Green infrastructure and plantings
We installed lush streetscapes, pocket parks, terraces, and the visually striking rain garden that anchors the site's sustainable infrastructure. The plantings were arranged to enhance pedestrian flow, provide shade and visual interest, and reinforce MKSK's design intent of reconnecting civic spaces.
Hardscape and public realm finishes
Our team executed the site's paving, seating terraces, and forecourt elements, ensuring seamless integration with landscape features to create welcoming and functional civic zones.
Collaboration and precision execution
Working hand in hand with architects and the general contractor, GreenScapes delivered precise installation coordination, upholding quality and timelines for this high-visibility government project.
The results
Through our installation efforts, the Franklin County Government Center now features an engaging and inviting landscape that elevates the downtown civic experience, merging functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability in one cohesive campus.
